The Talent of Eric Guenther, Daviell Maldonado and Gep Durenberyer Transform The Folie House In San Juan Capastrano Into A Work Of Historical Art

Welcome to the master bedroom in the Folie main house on the property of the owners of Whim Interior Design, Daviell Maldonado and Eric Guenther. This historic property in San Juan Capistrano was previously owned by well known local antique dealer Gep Durenberyer.

The black hand painted patina bed and the crisp white bedding are so classic and luxurious.

I love the little details and traditional collections in this home.
Every detail of the design of this home is done to perfection.

This is the lovely landing at the top of the stairs leading to the master bedroom, guest bedroom and bath.

All the doors and windows on this property are antique and were replaced by Gep Durenberyer.

The hand painted wooden stairs are magnificent and shows the detail that went into this home.

The peaceful patio off the guest bedroom that overlooks the 10 different garden rooms below.

The restful guest room fit for a queen or king. Looks like a little room service might be had!

The walls in this charming room are upholstered and look sophisticated.

The gorgeous custom painted Asian inspired bathroom is so unique and breathtaking in person.

An antique stool placed just right in the bath.

Eric Guenther, the proprietor of Whim Interior Design, sharing his design knowledge with ladies attending his home tour in the center of their garden. He gave a speech regarding using color in our homes and showing swatches to the audience to emphasize how color, texture and material can make a house feel more like a home.

If you are lucky enough to make it to Orange County tomorrow, there is another home tour here at 3:00 pm in San Juan Capistrano. They will be showcasing all their Christmas decorations with a catered lunch from the Sundried Tomato, wine tasting from B cellars and fine chocolate from schmid's. I am looking forward to another informative fireside type talk by Eric Guenther regarding interior design. I will have my camera in hand! Bring on Christmas, boys! I hope to see you there! Call 949.588.9600 for tickets. But, if you can't make it I will try my best to make you feel like you were.
Have yourself one fabulous day!

All photos taken by me.
