A Romantic Beach Inspired Nursery In The Colors Of The Sand

My parent's were kind enough to create the most fanciful nursery for my little one. It is a space that is all white and beautiful shades of cream with the most beautiful antique French iron bed found at Paris Flea Market. The luxurious bedding is from Blue Springs Home in Newport Beach, California. The room is quite heavenly and clearly created by loving Grandparents.
The stuffed animals are actually almost two feet tall and the first thing that Christian runs to put onto my Dad (Poppi) and trys to bury Poppi with them. It's quite effective. Poor Poppi.

The sideboard gave the perfect venue to display Belleck, Lenox vases and beach treasures. It is a collection of dreamy soft white and cream acquisitions from my Grandmother, my mother and gift's from me. Whenever I didn't know what to get my Mom, I always knew a Lenox rose vase would do the trick. My Dad usually has the most beautiful roses to pick from his garden to adorn them.

Touches of nature
seem to fit perfectly in our seaside town and in this quaint room.

The storks were acquired in La Jolla
where the storks seem to be a mainstay in their decor.

The old school tin man at salute over a beach inspired table set that was found in the English Tea store in downtown San Clemente.
We have spent many an afternoon having tea here with our three generations. It has been quite the magical space for all of us.

The entrance to the nursery is a french art deco looking lady in white iron. She sets the stately and enchanting mood.
This is a magical place we have enjoyed over the last few years. As my son becomes six this summer we wonder how this room will transform. Will it lose it's magic? I hope not.

Life just keeps marching on...
We keep decorating on...
Do you like the look of an all white room?
Does it sing to you?

Bring It On

Edited by Dream Sequins

My job as editor this week was difficult as many bloggers decided to follow the fierce directive of that cult cheerleading movie, Bring It On. It’s a new decade, and the IFB community decided to “bring it” and then some. (Just to clarify, I’m talking about the original movie starring Kirsten Dunst, and not the subsequent, watered down sequels; because as fashion bloggers, we all have original stories to tell!) This week’s links explore topics such as winter trends, vintage fur care, biker chic style revelations and profiles of 70s and 80s style icons and are so good that they make me want to lead the group in a cheer.

Just because

Just because... well I don't really have a REAL reason to
have a Johnny moment.
Do I need a reason?

Oh, how I love a sharp dressed man.

And he is a master at his craft .

A humanitarian.

I think I am seriously having a grrr... cougar moment.

Well, he sure makes it easy to like him

and is easy on the eyes. Who is with me on this one?

Award Time... The REAL Deal This Time

Ok, kids. Since no one actually took an award a few days ago, I am more than happy to present them. The rules are to please link back to the person that gave you the award (hello, that's me!). And, to pass along the award to your 10 favorite blogs that inspire you daily.
Thank you to the Scientific Housewife for these gracious awards. Please take a moment and visit her lovely blog, as she is curing cancer by day and a glamorous housewife by night. That is a WOW.
The "Happy 101" award is quite special since it's for those that make you happy with kind words, sweet thoughts and good times. It is so sweet. Well, I thought so.
I had to put a small twist on your awards, since you gals are so darn talented. Many of you already have one of these awards (I took a little look around), so please choose the award that you haven't already received. And, thank you for all the inspiration!!!
Drum roll please ....
~ ~
~ ~
Now, please go ahead and take your award. If you would not mind, please leave me a comment so I know you have received it (even if you don't participate in awards). Thank you for inspiring me and supporting my little blog on your blogroll.
I know I've forgotten someone. So, if it is you I am deeply sorry. Frankly, there are more than 20 peeps that inspire me daily. But, this is all for fun right? Right.

British Style Bloggers "Body Image Season" Campaign 2010 Launch Video

The British Style Bloggers have launched a Body Image Season campaign with the video launch today. They put a call out to fellow bloggers to send in a photo that they liked of themselves, even if they weren't perfect. Well, I responded with my favorite photo of my little man and I. Even if I am not at my "ideal" weight , the point was to get past that petty little thought and be bold. I LOVE this cause, because as you probably already know every woman has something they dwell on that they would like to change about their body. Even those gals that look like a perfect 10 to you. So, this campaign says the "heck with that!". Enjoy the beauty of these gals from all over the globe, from different races, ages, and body shapes.

The heck with it...
You ARE beautiful
just the way you are
RIGHT NOW.

It's Award Time, Darlings

Well, a great start to a new year. The Scientific Housewife has bestowed upon me two amazing awards to kick the new year off right. And, this is quite an honor from a gal that is a scientist trying to cure cancer by day and an entertaining glamorous blogging momma by night. I am humbled by you and thank you!!
I adore receiving an award, but I must admit that I get a bit queasy about picking my top 10. I put off posting an award as long as humanly possible because my inner most soul hates to exclude anyone. It must be a backlash of my awkward tween years and feeling like the last one picked. I want to give everyone that visits my blog an award since we cross the world, overlooking races, color, religion, politics, age, and such; and come together in blogland as one united community. So, if you are reading this, please go ahead and receive your award personally from me. It is my pleasure and I am honored you stopped by. Just leave me a note you did so I can enjoy your "red carpet" moment with you.

Evolve

Edited by Sandra/Debutante Clothing

It’s over kids – 2009 is done. Everyone is probably completing their resolutions list, which we never keep past March. This year, I have no list. I have just promised myself to evolve – learn something new, try new products, evolve in my style. Making yourself better, not different, seems to be on many bloggers’ minds. Fasshonaburu evolves by discovering her style, Fashion Cents helps us shop for designer while feeling great about our budget, and Hello Beauty teaches us how to finally do a smoky eye, quickly and simply. We don’t need to spend a lot, try too hard, or even shop a lot to start anew – we can make 2010 the year we get one year better than the last. Happy New Year – Cheers!
