Johnny Depp in Alice in Wonderland

If you know me well, you know I love Johnny Depp and Tim Burton.
What's not to like? Let's talk about JD.
Let's face it... Johnny is mysterious, sexy, and talented.
Like I said, what's not to like?
And, yes, I am married. But, I am not dead yet.
As I watch Alice in Wonderland with my 6 year old son,
I am amazed how Johnny doesn't look like the Johnny all us gals love to see.
You know, more makeup than a pageant princess and more clothes than a nun.
Where is Johnny? I say this in the opening act. Hopefully I am turned around after finishing the film. I am sure his genius will overcome me shortly and I won't even care about seeing his gorg glams.
What do you think of the film and our beloved Johnny in it?

Ps. This film is beyond brilliant. I am happy to report my son said we must buy the DVD since it is such an amazing movie. I smile... I love when he has good taste.
And, let's face it, I won't mind watching Johnny over and over! Ha.. ha..

Michelle Pfeiffer As Catwoman in Batman Returns Is Mesmerizing

Batman Returns (1992) is one of my son's favorite movies of all time.Well, he's only turning six, so his cinema exposure is quite limited. Ha... Ha... But, this is one of his movies I don't mind watching over and over. Let's face it, Tim Burton is a genius. What is hilarious is one of my son's wishes for his 6th birthday party this weekend is to have Mommy be Catwoman for his party. Why, oh why couldn't he ask me to wear a red Valentino dress or something? Catwoman. This is quite a tall order. Well, if you have seen this movie (Batman Returns) you know Michelle Pfeiffer is in serious slim shape, covered in tight shiny leather head to toe and has a 6 foot bull whip (Yes, I have the whip!) that she uses like a master. A bit spicy for a little boy's birthday party. Yes... I will surely need a shot of liquid courage before the first guests arrive. Or, two!!! And, the party must go on... Meow.

Catwoman lines from Batman Returns:
  • Miss kitty, I don't know about you but, I feel so much yummier.
  • Be gentle, it's my first time.
  • I am Catwoman, hear me roar.
  • Always confusing your pistols with your privates.
  • How could you? I am a woman!
  • Maybe you can help me find the woman behind the cat.
  • The thought of busting Batman makes me feel all dirty.
  • Life's a bitch, now so am I.

Ok, ok... I am off to put on my Catwoman costume yet again for my little Batman. Seriously... what we do for our kids.
~~

Do you love this movie too? Who is your favorite Catwoman?
Or, what's the craziest thing you have done for your kids? I have a feeling, I have only just begun the craziness...
Help!

Flashback to Pretty Woman and That Fabulous Red Dress That Made The Woman

So, it's Saturday night and I got to get my chick flick on. Thank goodness HBO had the kindness to show one of my fav chick flicks of all time, "Pretty Woman" (1990).

What's not to like about a little rags to riches story?

And, this red dress is probably my favorite dress of the 90's.
It was one of those fashion moments in the movies when it really takes your breath away and they really do create magic. Flawless.
Does anyone know if it's a Valentino?

Awe, the Julia Roberts in the bath singing scene...
What was that song? Prince, right?
It's a classic romantic comedy. Oh, how I love a good romance. Richard Gere isn't so bad to look at either. Ha, ha...
As I watch the movie for the hundredth time (Ok, maybe the tenth), I see how he brought out young Julia's sweet personality. Truly brilliant.
~~

The count down to the Oscars red carpet begins for all of us that are crazy over just seeing what they are wearing. For some of us (couldn't be me!) this is one of the few glam events of the year. What? Seeing everyone I know in flip flops everyday at Kindergarten is truly inspiring. Really! What? You don't believe me?
I hope they can top this hot red number on young Julia Roberts. Oh, the power of a fabulous and well fitting red dress and red lipstick.
~~
Who are your favorite contenders for the Oscars?
I adored "It's Complicated" with Meryl Streep, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.
With Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin hosting the show tonight, it should be a grand time.
Who do you think or hope is going to slam it down on the red carpet
or get an Oscar this evening?

Enjoy, dear friends.

Just because

Just because... well I don't really have a REAL reason to
have a Johnny moment.
Do I need a reason?

Oh, how I love a sharp dressed man.

And he is a master at his craft .

A humanitarian.

I think I am seriously having a grrr... cougar moment.

Well, he sure makes it easy to like him

and is easy on the eyes. Who is with me on this one?

Johnny Depp~the Outlaw in Public Enemy

Johnny Depp doesn't play by Hollywood rules, and now his rebel streak taps a kindred spirit in the role of John Dilllinger in Public Enemies. The film opens today, just in time for our long weekend. It's a Micheal Mann gangster epic in which he plays famed 1930's bank robber John Dillinger. Depp says he felt an instant connection to Dillinger, the bold-yet-humble bank robber who lived in old films that Depp watched for hours on his family's black-and-white, rabbit-eared TV. When it comes to the old Warner Bros., his heart soars. "I guess the era got me, the 30's, 40's and even the 20's. I was fascinated with the old Bogey movies, with Cagney movies, or even Fred Astaire." "The title of the film is Public Enemies, but I don't see John Dillinger as an enemy of the public." adds Depp. About the film as he is asked is there anything else he would like to add he says, "I hope it's good". Oh, Johnny, I am sure it is.
